Helps Develop Sight and Hearing
Designed by psychologists and musicologists to enhance babies' cognitive and sensory development, the Symphony Light and Music mobile offers a combination of music and visual stimuli that helps develop sight and hearing and improve coordination between these two senses. Four different and equally fascinating movements encourage baby to focus on an object and track it with her eyes, helping strengthen eye muscles. The combination of repetitive circular motion and other alternating movements with objects rising, falling and turning around maintains baby's attention and active observation. Colorful liquids move in the center with or without light, adding an exciting visual element. Additionally, the 20 minutes of continuous music and nature sounds, including the choice of Bach, Mozart or Debussy selections, helps baby develop an appreciation of music. Aids Cognitive Development
As baby's vision develops, he'll likely begin to discover the top and bottom layers of the mobile, as well as those to the sides. We read the reviews of the various Symphony mobiles by Tiny Love. This one seems to have corrected most of the flaws identified in the non-light version. I won't repeat the positive points - our daughter loves this mobile. It will give you 20 minutes of freedom to take a shower or whatever.
There may be two revisions of this one already. One of the reviews stated that the volume has to be reset each time. Ours remembers the last setting, even if that is mute. We bought our mobile in June 2008.
Negatives: The musical selections are short and the light isn't very bright. Also, you really had to push the stem into the base quite hard to get everything to work.

I bought this mobile when my son was about 2 months. He is 7 months now and remains his favorite toy! He just loves it, captures his attention completely for as long as it is going on. It automatically stops after 15 minutes and my baby stays still waiting for it to restart. Now he is even trying to start it himself. Nothing absorbs him as much or as long as this mobile. I highly recommend it.

I ordered this mobile but it did not work. I called the company and they sent me a new part. Still nothing. Called again. New part. Nothing. Customer service is great. Product stinks.

This is a really cute mobile. When it was working, my son loved it. He talked to it for at least 20 minutes at a time. However, it stopped working after a couple of weeks. (And yes, I changed the batteries--twice!) The music played, but the mobile wouldn't turn. Another problem is that it does not stay in place. The base is very heavy, and difficult to secure to the side of the crib. The base twists, causing the arm to fall to the side, which could potentially hurt a child. It is very cute, but I would not recommend it.

We got this when the baby was about 3 weeks old, and he was interested then, but now that he's two months, he really digs it! He doesn't mind being in his crib alone when it's on!
